The Nomax Group of Companies consists of three entities, Nomax Corporation, Amcon Laboratories Corporation and Char-Lite Products Corporation. Amcon is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nomax Corporation and Char-Lite Products Corporation is an independent company. All of the companies operate under one management umbrella.

Nomax Corporation was founded in 1982 as a pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing company. From the beginning, Nomax has been registered with the FDA in compliance for both of these functions. Initially Nomax began with the manufacture of effervescent preparations, both as pharmaceuticals (antacids, potassium supplements) as well as medical devices (enzyme tablets for contact lenses).

Nomax remains a leader in effervescent manufacturing. Today Nomax manufactures a variety of effervescent products, both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical, including it's own brand of effervescent potassium citrate, Effer-K. Nomax also makes a number of specialty products such as pre-moistened towelettes, medical devices from a variety of materials and diagnostic dye strips. Nomax manufactures several products that are sold by Amcon Labs. Nomax also is a contract manufacturer.
